Always Try to Look on the Bright Side

Hi all and thanks for reading!

Last night I went out with some friends, we stayed out until late and when I was heading home I got mugged. It was really scary, because I could feel how one of the muggers trying to cut me with something that felt like a knife; I don’t know if it was that it wasn’t sharp or what but if it had been I’m not sure if I could be writting this post now.

I was near my office so I got in and called the cops but they couldn’t find them. Luckily all they got was my wallet and I never carry money in it, so I lsot no money, but now I have to get a new ID, credit cards, etc. and that’s a pain, but I’m very grateful that it’s only that. After I was closing my office, a saw a couple of friends near and asked them if they could give me a ride home, they said yes so I grabbed my laptop, which I had left in my office and went home.

I went home to get some rest only to receive a call in the morning from my secretary to let me know that someone broke into my office and stole the fax machine. It isn’t such a big deal, just a fax machine, but when you put it al together…

I got really really angry at first, it really worries me how unsafe the streets have grown, but I started thinking…

I had left my laptop in my office, if I hadn’t been mugged and seen my friends I would’ve probably left it there, and it would’ve been stolen. The muggers tried to hurt me but couldn’t, and all they got was an empty wallet. And all the people that broke into my office got was a fax machine.

So this scenario could’ve meant even my death, but in the end, putting it all together, I’m a very lucky guy!

Always look on the right side of things! Is it easy? Most of the times it isn’t. But I’m sure that if you look hard, sometimes really hard, you’ll find it. Just try too look at situations as a whole and from different points of view, and you’ll see that things are not always as bad as they seem.

And, always remember, it’s always darker before dawn :-)

On another note, Reed Floren’s The IM Gifts Giveaway is nearing it’s end, so if you haven’t signed up I recommend you do so before it’s too late! Here’s the link:
